Dang gone it!!! For the past 2 years, I've wanted to better myself at being a flounder fisherman, but that's all I've done is "want." I only catch them as an occasional by-product when redfishing. Any secrets/techniques that you are willing to share?

Also, please tell us more about this picture in your album:

capn' jon, that there would be solid, pure mean and hungry redfish.the pic was taken the day Gustave got in the gulf, right off the rocks @ southwest pass. they would eat the styrofoam corks right off.
we caught sooooooo many, the 225 hp. would not plane the boat off goin' back home.(the last sentence is not true, just kiddin' too many wardens in venice)
also, these flatfishes were all caught with a 6 inch bolt thru a deck-brush handle, wit the head of the bolt ground off.or you can buy a gig @ wallyworld for prolly 5 bucks.no secrets, you just gotta GO.sometimes we only gig 10 or 20,the kids always have a blast though.you know you got a cajun kid when she asks for her own flounder lite for her 12th birthday.
you ought to see the 12v.flounder lights, complete with beer-holder that i fabrecayted.i'm proud of that brain-fart nigga-rig.it gets boreing at times offshore.all these flounder were gigged.with the heat of the day,i prefer to be up all night.some people on here will disagree, but a man can't go froggin' every nite, some nites were meant for flounderin'........period.here is the cajun math formela:
(day=too hot,nite=not as hot.dark moon=frogs~bright moon=flounder)divided by a low tide commin' in 4 flounder.
how the hell do you put the pics on the post like you did?

I experienced once when I was younger (7 yrs. old). We were fishing the rock jetty in SW pass and that is exactly what it looked like with the reds.
Frank Davis was out there the same day as us and filmed it.
Frank's fishing report is on thursdays, but there were so many phone calls about the fishing report, they replayed the report again on friday.
You could drop a bare hook off the side of the boat and catch reds.
All I can remember was my arms were sore from catching so many.
We had our 20 reds in 5 mins.
