Whats your opinions on this motor? NOt sure the size, from the pic it looks pretty big. I didn't realize they made a SD in 2002, but I found one on craigslist with 59hrs on it for 2500$ Seem like a fair price? Here's a pic

Looks like a 29 hp kawasaki, could be wrong, but the price seems about right. It all depends on the condition of course, run it before you make an offer and put it through it's paces.

I didn't think they had the hyper drive out in '02 either, but I can promise you this, it's got more than 59 hrs on it. A tach is only about $50 & will say 0 hrs when you buy it.

X2 on that being a 29 Kawi

Did they come with power trim that early? I've heard that makes a big difference, from the pic I'd say it probably does, but I don't know for sure. I was more just worried about getting one of the early model SD that had some issues, that were worked out in later models.

I've never had one, but heard the kawasaki replacement parts are very expensive when compared to a kohler or briggs.

First I'd say $2500 is too high for an 02 and it appears to not have a clutch.

Second I owned a 29 Kawi for a while and it was a good motor and ran good, liked the fuel injection. I never had an problems worth talking about but I too have heard replacement parts are high.

Performance parts are pretty much non-existent.

It's hard to tell but the drive shaft brace to the bel housing looks fucked up
