Post PD Oil Leak at Clutch
Ran the river yesterday evening scouting before the season opener next weekend for a couple hours. When we got back to the ramp I tilted the motor all the way up and white milky grease came dripping out of the clutch area. I didn't have time last night to dig into but will be tonight, and I have looked at the PD manual. Anybody got any ideas? I'm guessing water has gotten into the lower unit oil and but not sure what's allowing it to ooze out the top, a bad seal somewhere? Here's a picture if it helps. I've only put 3 hours on it since buying it used from a guy who told me he had done all the regular maintenance and was ready to go for this season. And if you can't tell, it's my first mud motor... Also, is the little bit of grease in the picture 2 normal?

check your lower unit oil

my bet is that your seals are out and water and oil pushed up out the vent under the clutch

Thanks fellas, draining the oil as we speak, that's definitely what came out of the clutch area. Probably a dumb question but what seals in the lower unit are you talking about? I'm guessing there is a seal along where the prop shaft housing mounts through the skeg? Before I began draining oil I noticed a very little bit coming from this area where I drew the white arrow, is this where your talking about or could it be multiple areas...Thanks again

Thanks for the input, did some searching, from what I'm finding it's likely the lower seal at the prop, going to call prodrive this morning to order one,... and another prop. If it's not here by this weekend (opener), I think I'd be alright just replacing the LU oil, my runs are about 20 min max. Any other parts/seals that could be the issue? Might as well order them all at once.
