Post Gator tail 17 vs 18
Which boat would be a better performing boat the 17x46 or the 18x46 gator tail. I have a 35 gtr right now & fixing to purchase a new boat by next week. I for sure want a gator tail boat with hunt deck but hung on the two sizes. I have the 1854 gator trax right now which is almost 20 foot long & i'm wanting a smaller boat but not too small (loaded statement i know). Ive been going through pictures and videos on the site just to see how much room & difference there is buut still cant seem to nail it down.
Also im going to go with the pointed bow option and didnt know if the bow gets added to the front flat surface or if that (loa)measurement is tip to back of hunt deck.

I normally hunt two people (me & one guy) but more times than not will have three im sure.

If anyone has either of these boats & have a picture with a hunt load i would surely appreciate it.

Thanks, Ryan

I have a 17' boat. i wish I had an 18' +. The 1846 is a damn good hull. Craig has one and talks highly of it. Another guy I hunt with had one aswell and it was a runner!

I have an 18x54 and I believe I will go with the 60" bottom next build. I hunt really shallow sand bars and the wider the boat, the less the draft.

Yep, I love mine.

Considering the loads you described above, the 1846 would fit you best.

I have the hunt deck and pointed bow also and love it.

The length of the boat is measured from the hunt deck to the point on the bow. You lose a little fwd. deck due the point but its minimal.
