i have a 1540 weldbilt hull with a 20 hp gd lt...wanting to get a surface drive but having trouble deciding which hp...ive been looking at the mud buddy 23 and 27 but dont know whick one...i want power trim and neutral...what you guys think? thanks!

A 25 would work on that boat no problem! It weighs in right at around 235

The 23 weighed that much and 25 is 25 pounds heavier, did they change the frame to count for the weight of the new engine?

They put those motors on the back of smaller boats, there's a guy on here fixing to put one on the back of a 14x38 This guys 15x40 will float a 25GTR

Ive seen a 23MB Sport on a 14x42, that thing was a turd.
It wanted to sink so bad it didn't know what to do.

im leaning towards the 23 mb sport..anyone know how much they weigh? my long tail weighs about 190 and i also have my battery and 6 gallon tank in the back...i plan on moving them forward to even the weight...what you guys think?

I'm gunna beg you to get a true mudboat.

Either get a mud hull or a copperhead. Now that I look back, although your boat will float the gatortail.. like woodie said its gonna be sketchy, which in turn will probably lack alot of performance. The copperhead would be your better choice in my opinion.
