 excel 18x54
got alot of crap last time i posted that i was getting this boat, just here again to say that my 36hp pd is pushing that boat around flawlessly, boat handles well, rides smooth, drafts very little, and will haul ars even with a load - i'm loving it and glad i bought it couldn't be happier with the pd too - doing great

 Re: excel 18x54
I got the excel 1851 swf4 and I have 0 complaints. I got a pd with exhaust and mikuni and the boat performs great. Now I know the negatives and have heard all the horror stories but to date I have 0 complaints. I don't drive mine like the apocalypse is behind me but I don't baby it. Bottom is still flawless and I hit some logs by now. It's .100 and its doing well so until something goes wrong ill have to agree

 Re: excel 18x54
I haven't had my f4 to long either but I love it already too! My MB 7000 pushes it about 33 in the shallows with two guys and two dogs. They dropped the river up here and it is SHALLOW! I love the look on everyones face when I fly by in 4" of water! So far i have no complaints either. Haven't tested the .125 hull yet but I don't try to hit anything either.

 Re: excel 18x54
Sorry CB. I had to. You help me more than one time. If it helps if your mom was in the nsfw I would make sure I put a sensor bar over the naughty areas and then say " you guys shouldn't be looking at her, she is someone's daughter!" Haha

Sorry cb! I couldn't resist. I do love my f4 tho. I haven't had the chance to use the winch yet but I'm trying! This winter I'm gonna try and build a custom hi/lo pop-up blind for it. So if u got any pointers on that don't be afraid to shoot em my way. Again sorry cb! No harm intended!

 Re: excel 18x54
No need to apologize, I can take a joke. That is my mother yall talkin about though, so just sayin be easy.
If you were asking me what I drive, it's a custom built by garrett pearce. Used to run a PD, but I run some pretty rough areas so I wanted a 3/16 bottom and a boat braced the way I wanted.

 Re: excel 18x54
I've got the 1851 f4 .125 gauge with a 36 pd , but I run mine like the apocalypse is behind me!!! Lol. But I tell ya excel can make a boat. It's heavy, but it's tuff as a bulls nutsack. I've got my fair share of trail damage with the worst hitting a cypress tree damn near head on. At 175 hrs and just replacing my first prop, it's running like a beast. No worries with an excel

 Re: excel 18x54
I too bought a 2012 17x54 F4, with a BD 4200. Just cracked about 12 hours on it and love it.
My only 2 complaints are that it porpoises when there's no weight in the front. But through my research, it seems thats a problem not just confined to Excel.
My other bitch is that I wish I would have gone with a bigger motor. Im lucky to hit 26 mph with just me and the dog.
Love the fit and finish of the boat. I get tons of looks and compliments everywhere I go with it.
