My boss (wife) gave permission to go hunt Kentucky ! I'll be hunting public land or wma . I'm in north bama . Anyone know or had good hunt on wma ..

My buddy is from a town near Mayfield, KY. He hunts public. I'll send him an e-mail and ask.

Why just KY, the same WMA's that I duck hunt I have buddies that have pulled 140"+ deer off of every single year. And alot of these places are just about abandoned if you get off the beaten path a little bit. Also less of a drive id image.

Around the house here in ky there's lots of good public hunting available
If ya don't care to spend 100.00 on a land permit there's more old.coal mine ground than you can imagine also

Look up Land Between the Lake WMA. I have hunted there several times. You should have good luck. Just dont shoot the wrong animals. They have reintriduced several species of deer, elk ect...

I dont know where you will end up hunting but i hunt in Kentucky between mayfield and murray and they have plenty of big deer

I use my SD to hunt public land on Tennessee river in north bama an I can get to places most can't that is an advanage I would like to take to Kentucky ...

No doubt look into LAND BETWEEN THE LAKES!! Went there on the Tenn. half of it 3 years ago and killed my first buck with a bow. The group I went with saw deer probably 75% of our hunts. Try to target creek bottoms and find the acorns. Awesome place!

Higginson-Henry. Its near Morganfield,Ky. Also Sauer Heber near Henderson,Ky. I go by both all the time and see some really nice bucks in the area. Any public area near Hokinsville,Ky is good too. There is the Peabody Coal Mine ground that is around Central City,Ky. Go to Uncle Lee's aka Wing Supply in Greenville,Ky and look at the pictures.You can buy your Peabody hunting fishing permit at any Walmart in Ky. The permits are like twenty bucks and you can hunt thousands upon thousands of acres. There are some monsters that come from KY. Ky and Indiana have a one buck only for the entire deer season. One buck is all your allowed for the year. That is why we have great hunting.

I grew up close to that area. I have a pic hanging in the record books at Uncle Lees. 1995 Won the big buck contest. Great hunting in that area. Just be careful on Peabody. There are lots of holes that wlll swallow you and your atv up.

My cousin owned a huge tract of ground just outside Drakesboro,Ky. At the Paradise mine. He paid two hundred bucks per acre for the property and sold it for a little over ten times what he paid. We slayed the ducks,geese,turkeys and deer on that spread. He was able to sell the ground and pay cash for a business he runs today. I miss that place. It was almost smack dab in the middle of the Peabody ground.

There you go. Contrats. I was on my way to run nets in Ky this morning and seen a guy with a buck in the back of his truck that was a monster. I bet 180" or better. It was huge. He was proud of it. He had the head hanging out of the bed for all to see.
