 Re: Name this duck
We'd call that a summer mallard round these parts which depending on who you talk to covers a mottled duck, black duck, and sometimes a mallard hen

 Re: Name this duck
Mottle for sure, the patch could be blue to green but the white leading edge gives it away, a black has a black leading edge

 Re: Name this duck
The easiest way to tell is to look at the outer bar on the back feathers if its skinny and real thin it's a black if its thick and wide its a mottle

 Re: Name this duck
I would say Mottled duck due to the buffing on the scapular feathers. Both the mottled and black duck can have a white trailing edge on speculum. Another useful link below... http://www.greglasley.net/motblk.html

 Re: Name this duck
drake mottle.......like takem said. the easiest way to tell is: mottle duck has one white stripe below blue patch. female french has one above and one below the patch. black duck has no white on patch. they do cross breed,but even if you are only half n!gger,chances are you still a n!gger. they all taste the same...none as good as a grey!
class dismissed.

Black, mottled, hybrid mallard hen, whatever species "Abagail" happened to be, she's in this bowl! ImageUploadedByTapatalk1353803370.746162.jpg
