Post PD wobble in tower housing. ???
I have some wobble in my tower housing on my 32 PD. Does anyone have any pics on how it's put together? Are there some common parts ( bushings) that I need to order before I take it apart?
Had MB's before but this is my first PD. Don't know how it's put together.

if its bad get your tower bushings changed.

the old ones have to be cut out and the new ones press in.

dont let them get to bad bc they will wear out the top colar on your lower unit housing

does anyone have any pics or measurements of them? I'm a machinist and can probably make them before i could get them in the mail. Just wondering how big they are and stuff. I may have some material to turn some out. Thanks.

I understand that. I have some of that material. Also have some oil impregnated UHMW that would be bad a$$ as well.

I wish you would figure something better out. Problem with what PD installs in there is it only covers about 4 inches of the lower units upper neck. If it covered all of it the aluminum would wear out as bad which is what all of that slop / wobble is from.

Wouldn't be hard to make them the entire length. Don't know if the uhmw will hold up as well but its a fuckload cheaper. I just had a buddy turn some bushings for another project out of that stuff and he said it is easy to turn.

All that plastic turns easy. You have to make fixtures to get good tolerances because it will flex alot when thin. That's no problem either. Just have to get the measurements right.
