Post Frogging ??
Ok, I know this is a stupid question and I can just imagine some of the replies I am gonna get.

Why do you guys down South not use a gig for frogging?

Most of the areas we frog it seems it would be impossible to hand grab frogs. They are sitting up on a muddy bank and you need a 8' gig to get them. We usually just gig them and then throw them in the cooler on ice to clean in the morning. Also our limit is only 8 per day................. :(

Besides, where is the fun when you can't reach down to grab a frog and find big cottonmouth instead. or a big snapping turtle or gator

8 per day?

I feel sorry you on that note. Even with 3 guys in the boat that could make for a really quick night.

Around here our legal days are considered midnight until midnight for frogs. Hopefully its the same for you so you can stay out late and grab a second limit.

Depends where I am. Usually in the cypress swamp we grab them if we can. Sometimes they are pretty far, we use a net with an 8 ft pole. Sometimes the frog might be in a spot too far to grab or net, then I have a salwater fork. Its a pretty hefty gig with 4 prongs that I have hand sharpened. If you stick a frog with that, he will die.

I love frogging. Lots of cold beer, cruising around looking at all sort of critters, and low pressure. Stay out late as you want. No problems, no worries.

Most of mine are in hand grabbin range, for those hard to reach I use a net. Frogs floating on top of grass are hard to gig unless you have one of those FL gigs that use the straight fish hooks instead of the thicker pronged gig. It will just push them down and not penetrate. If your gonna use a gig check these out.

Think I would come to hate frogs if I had to clean that many.

For long distance frogs I rigged up a net with a paint roller handle in the end of it.When attached to a telescoping painters pole it can reach out there.Another plus is the pole is 6' long and is out of the way in the boat but when you need to it can reach out about 14'.Frogs hate it

Delta,
your dad lives in Stephensville? If so, I heard he could catch more if Elwood could catch.
