 Re: Gator tail vs Mudbuddy.
Gatortail has instant reverse and you can actually get one in 4-6 weeks if you order one

 Re: Gator tail vs Mudbuddy.
All mudbuddy is is an attempt at a gator tail with less success and no reverse

 Re: Gator tail vs Mudbuddy.
First MM was a MB. The best thing I ever did was sell it and buy a GTR. customer Service is everything. I would rather pay double with good CS then deal the CS nightmare in Utah. My observation also is the GTR is fast stock motor for stock motor.

 Re: Gator tail vs Mudbuddy.
I run in areas that are too shallow for a outboard not alot of mud just too shallow for a outboard and lots and lots of weeds that are thick. Also my boat is an excel which is made by mud buddy so will a gator tail run as good as a mudbuddy would on it??

 Re: Gator tail vs Mudbuddy.
Dont use a mud run as your main decision point!!! I'm yet to find a person that hunts or frogs, or fishes on mud flats! If you buying just to play in th mud, then go there and decide......
Decide what you run them in first,,,then widdle it down from there!

 Re: Gator tail vs Mudbuddy.
I own a gator tail (yet to put it in the water), own a go-devil long tail, an had a MB 23 mini for 6 years. Never had a problem with any of them. My long tail does really well in the shallow hard bottoms I hunt in the marsh. My Mudbuddy never let me down, everywhere from banging stumps while running wide open to grass, hycens, levees, trot lines, weeds, everything. And the CS was awesome from every experience I had. When I wanted a big motor, hands down, Gt was my choice. Loved them for years. Again, their CS was great to me and it really helps that they have reps all over my area (SETX). PD is designed too much like an outboard for me to ever even consider. Instant reverse is more appealing than a 10 second crank.

 Re: Gator tail vs Mudbuddy.
prodrive reverse was the ultimate for picking up decoys...id turn up the idle put it in reverse and idle around picking up....point it and it will pull you around...way easier than pushing the boat around and having the bow pushed by wind and missing the decoy you were after.....also pd will plane in reverse..lol yep seen a very large man plane in reverse.....no replacement for fpr.....the gtr work well just not nearly as powerfull. That will be the biggest thing i miss about my pd.

I like round eye Chinese too lol. Yeah the fun part was getting it to walk sideways for 200 yards at full throttle. Neat little boat for sure though.
