Dont know about longtails but dont think you should have any play. It should tighten its self when you run it. Ya might want to take it off and see if the treads on the shaft are striped.Just dont sound right to me.

Do you have a pin though the back lock nut ? I had to do that on my 1st longtail. That might be the problem is the nut is backing off.

I have a gdlt 16. The manual says it should have some slack. About once a year I take the wheel off and never seize the threads. After running it the prop will be tight. After I get home and grease my motor before storing. I start it up and bring it to governor speed and then turn the key off. This sudden stop with the momentum of the wheel loosens it up.

Then I would say if you had your prop adjusted to bring your in water Rpms closer to 3300-3500 your speed would increase. Depending on what you running in, as your prop wears a lil your speeds might go up.

But with the speeds you posted, I wouldn't change a thing.

I was rather impressed with that speed myself suprised me when my cousin showed me the gps, my concern with the rpm i guess is because the engine seems to be bogged

If your governer is not kicking in, it is bogged. Whether 2500 rpms or 3500 rpms.

I wouldnt with the performance you getting. It will wear with use and rpms will work there way up.
