Re: Duck Hunter drowns in Ohio. Sad. Anyone familiar with that lake? Must be big to have a wave big enough to swamp a boat. Could have been that the conditions there were different than what they were used to-no waves that big in most places in Louisiana that I've hunted. I recently got an auto-inflating life-jacket. About $60 at Academy. We may think it's a pain or that IRS not manly, but it wouldn't take long to go under when you think about how hard it would be to swim with waders and everything else we wear.
Still sad to hear.

Re: Duck Hunter drowns in Ohio. I googled the lake. It's just a short distance inland from Lake Erie. Bitching cold I'm sure. The lake is a finger lake and is probably deep with steep sides. I'm sure wind would whip up considerable wave action. Certainly out of their comfort zone. Very sad.

Re: Duck Hunter drowns in Ohio. He may of done the big gaspe. When you fall In really cold water your body gasps for air weather your on top or under the water when that happens decides weather you live or die. Life jacket or not you have about 30 min and your dead in that cold of water.
