You going gutters or full welded floor?

I have cross bracing its just built into the side of the boat. Also used for my bench seat. You could go either way with it, i don't like having big cross braces running across the top of my floor, to much to trip on.

Can you crippled bitches not pickup your feet when you walk? I've have 4 boats with cross braces in the last 6 years and never seen anyone trip on them, or twist an ankle in the gutters.

My cross braces hold my cooler perfectly.

I'm not goin to go into detail of thickness of metal, but your theory of the thickness we use on our bracing is false.

We have approx. 40 boats out there with this type of bracing. No issues yet.

I gotta go with J on this one. I brace under the floor as well no issues and no hooks.

We've built several with just the longitude braces. No side braces. But we did notice when we welded the false floor out, it really stiffened it up. Several years of some decent abuse with no issues. J, where exactly are your braces cuz I can't stand the tripping bar either. Bout to get started on a new rig for myself. Never used cross braces before but if it helps, it's not adding much weight and you won't see it anyway.

Im glad its working for some builds. I was not commenting to start an argument or call any builders out. I have been in the boat Repair for a wile now and have had to repair destroyed boat bottoms with similar structure ie " cross bracing under the floor". Next time i get one in i will take a pic.

P.S. If someone ask me 2 build one with sealed floor and no cross bracing on top i would but only after explaining the pro's and con's.

Are you going to put a motor on this thin and run it. It's almost as bad as the MB Sport V.

Dec. 3rd was first photos. He builds the boats part time. So, 6 weeks isn't that bad. Please don't put Jay and SportV in same sentence!!

Jay does build them part time. I wish it was done sooner but hey he is doin his best and thats all I ask. The boat will be in the water this week and hunted out of this weekend. Can't wait. And the thread is so long from getting off topic.

Boat is looking good! Did you not want a crimp in the sides? Just curious.

I've heard it said that the crimp strengthens the boat. Any truth to this?

yes Its does stiffen the sides.

you are gonna have a little wait on materials if you go crimped.....from what ive heard....

I like the crimp cause it keeps the water down off my rails while running, the crimp directs it outward. Wish i would have gotten my crimp a little further down. Will happen on my next one
