ive never seen one at the lake before. I know people love to eat them, and trust me i wanted to taste his arse. But i did feel for the guy so i put him back, hopefully he will go make some babies. it takes them so many years just to get to where they can produce, and the producers are the ones people are eating. I do beleive they are on the threatend species list. I will prolly never see or catch another one!

That's very cool!! My buddy has had two now for almost 10 years in his tanks. Very cool and weird looking creatures.... Seeing them eat live goldfish is sweet!

We got them things all over the place here, big mofos. I had one a tad bigger than that break my line while I was fishin' for bream. Caught one the size of a quarter runnin' across my shop floor and gave it to my nephew, 4 months old and about the size of softball cut in half. Looked like a mouse when I caught it, had such a long tail.

I have a nephew thats a herpatology (I think thats what its called LOL) major going for his masters and he catches and tags them to track them. Im gonna try to go with him sometime this year. He has had some 100+ lb ones in his boat.

Went to the Zoo of Acadiana and Alexandria zoo today on the way homt from the PD shop. The turtles at both zoos were all forking. Must be the season. Alexandria zoo has 4 of them big mofos in a tank. They were doing the turtle nasty too....

Nice turtle. I have yet to see one in the wild and hope someday to have a bigun in my hands like you have. I have trapped a tractor trailer load of common snappers but no 'gator snapper. Nice job. Good picture too!
