Are you getting a seat put in the back? He lacks ripping the angle off to the back, and heliarcing the bottom? Plus the finishing touches in the deck?

Yea he is up there now finishing it all out. He had other door cut out and bending when I left. Then cut out rest of deck cover and cross braces. Tomorrow I work till 12p so he will put finishing welds on and grind it out smooth edges. Back seat/storage and grab bar will go in after we mount motor to make it a perfect for for me.

how exactly is the winch mounted?

That boat isn't going to be very heavy but if and when it gets stuck simple physics comes into play - inertia is greater because of friction of some sort (wether its suction, or dry land, or whatever) so the winch is going to torque and pull harder at first. Aluminum isn't like steel and i've seen winches rip off/out of boats because it didn't have sufficient support.

Man you'd have to ask Jay. I don't know how that shit works. I know he's done about 15 like this and none of them have ripped out yet.

What i saw when i was there last was that he had made a winch plate that looked as though it would be welded across 3 of the longitudinal braces and the winch mounted to that.....the use of the winch is primarily for pulling over levees......

I love that he has a hard on for detail. And that he let me help and learn a few things here and there. Here are a few pics.
