Post Opinions on Lighweight long tail
I have looked around some and not found what I am looking for.
What are opinions out there on the lighter weight mud motors. 7hp and under
I am looking for one to put on a layout boat. Most likely four rivers refuge runner but possibly momarsh DP.
I am just looking for opinions on what you guys like and don't like; brand, price, weight, reliability, horse power, etc.
FYI I am not interested in building my own, just want one I can buy off the shelf that is the best bang for the buck.
Thanks in advance.

Never operated one, so I can't give a review but it may be worth looking into the stump-jumper longtails. They have a website. I've read good reviews about them.

I've got a stumpjumper. It definitely has its areas where it shines. It beats paddling a canoe, that's for sure. I've had my boat loaded with 3 guys, 1 dog, and all our gear and drove across a big marsh with 3/8ths thick of ice no problem. Its ice to take on and off the motor with no problems. Launch it anywhere you want. I was torn between this and the copperhead but couldn't justify the price of the copperhead. Anything else you want to know just ask.

You won't go wrong with a stump jumper. 63 lbs and I think they are perfect for a momarsh. I just sold one to a fella with a Momarsh boat. The 7 hp Robin engine is a beast of power for such a small mud motor rig.

Thank you guys for all the replies. It's much appreciated, as this will be my first mud motor.
