 Re: PRODRIVE
with the rpms you are turning, measure your prop, if prop is good then boat is your problem.

 Re: PRODRIVE
Other than what eljefe said, I'm assuming you have the correct motor height and transom height? Tall - tall or short-short.

 Re: PRODRIVE
Possibly need to shim the motor to reach the desired transom angle?

 Re: PRODRIVE
On an excel... Prolly gonna be set for a mutt buddy. What mutt buddy? 18-20degree angle? And the right transom angle for a pro drive, so I've been told is the same for an outboard.. 12-15

 Re: PRODRIVE
The excels are really heavy boats (I had one), your not going to get great performance out of that hill, without a lot mods.Your best bet is to stick with the pd(unless you want a different motor) and go to a better hull.

 Re: PRODRIVE
Your speeds are probably close to right with a stock motor and that boat in deep water. Mods, I couldn't say. They are similar to what I get on stock. I am probably slower loaded in deep water. Shallow and loaded is totally different story for me.
Loaded down, mine is like a tug boat in deep water. Makes for a long trip down the bayou black marina canal and ICW. It's a relief to hit turtle bayou pipeline and ride the edge of the marsh. I am no expert by any means, but from what I have read on here, the vee on the Excel probably hurting you. Just a guess.
