Post 16' 23HP or 18' 35HP
Debating on which to get. I know you can't have too much HP, but money is an object. I have come across a very clean Mudbuddy 23 HP with mikuni carb and BPS exhaust. Looking at a Southfork 16/42 mudmotor set up. The alternative is an 18/48 custom boat with a 35 HP GTR (or Sport H). I understand the 35HP is a way nicer set up, but it will also be double the cost, literally. This will be used primarily for duck hunting. Most of the time I will have 2-3 people, dog, and guns. Thinking of going with 16' and 23HP. Figured if I'm not satisfied I could always sell it. Fire away.

If you buy the 23 you will want to sell it for a 35.

A 23 with 2-3 guys, dog, guns, and decoys is gunna be SLOW

Ill second the 35hp. If you dont youll be wishing you had one. I recently bought a new stock motor and its killing me that it doesnt have the power I had before. Good luck buddy

The 35 on a 18x48 will go faster than 21-22 with that load. Either he don't know how to drive or it needs a new prop.

Get the 35 so you can mod it if you need more. If you mod the 23 it might be as powerful as a stock 35.
