DO THIS ---

Go to Port of Call and get you a cheeseburger. Order up a Monsoon to drink while you are waiting on a table.

Best damned burgers I have ever eaten -- and I have eaten them all across this country.

Dammit, they are good!

838 Esplanade Ave.
Easiest way to get there is to go to the end of the market (past Jax Brewery) and take a left on Esplanade Ave., it will be about 5 or 6 blocks up on your left.

Hit Magazine street between Napoleon and Louisiana ave and there are a bunch of bars and grills there should be one for everyones taste. My personal favorite is the Bulldog good burgers and great beer selection. If you are going to do the French quarter thing then head over to Frenchman st and check out DBA bar good beer and music. As stated tropical isle, pat o's and Cats meow if you are into the karaoke thing. Then on the other end of town you have the maple leaf on oak st for music and beer, and Cooter Browns for a big beer selection.

I love/hate NOLA. The worst part is the citizens, you know who I'm talking about. That being said I enjoy cooking at home for family and friends and sitting outside drinking beer.Besides being alot cheaper the older I get the more I hate going and fighting the crowds at a bar for drinks,by the end of the night I'm ready to crack skulls. So now I just stay close to home.

Oh yea and port o call has great burgers I had one the other day.Every place in the quarter has bug problems from the lucky dog vendors to Galatiore's.Holy crap almost forgot them when you are getting ready to head to your hotel and you are leaving Bourbon st get youself a lucky dog now thats good eats after a night of heavy drinking and smoking

If you are in the Quarter and like oysters, shrimp and beer you can't beat the Acme Oyster. And Napoleon Bar had a good muffaleto sandwich...probably still does.

x2 Jpc - red eye, whiskey blue, bulldog, and portofcall are a must. Screw the bugs - those burgers are unreal.

If ya boy is turnin 21 - hit up Rick's.

Just remember - Bourbon after 1am - better bring a flashlight, it gets real dark. 8-)

Well that settles it, I'm going to have to check out Phil's the next time I am down there - should be about mid October.

Y'all got me all fired up about another great burger in NO.

Any of y'all ever been to The Joint? It's a good little BBQ place down by the old Navy Academy.
