Unbelievable....hunting over corn stalks on the shore of a pond. What has waterfowl hunting come to. Those of us careful to stay well within the law, and those who flirt with disaster. If that's not baiting then I'm spreading sacks of corn in Indian Bayou and calling it conservation.

Dguidry Just because the only area you hunt doesn't have birds like it did 35 years ago doesn't make what they're doing wrong. To kill ducks you have to adapt and change with the times or stay on the damn porch. I know if I saw birds stacking up in a corn field that I had access to hunting I'd sure as hell be there the next morning to bust some feathers instead of sitting in the same spot I've been scratching every day. Just sayin. Somebody gotta kill em.

If ya can't beat em join em. Corn is cheap compared to everything else we buy for hunting.

There are 125 duck clubs just north of ST Louis that not only have milo next to water but flood milo and have been Doing it for 40 years! Trust me it's not illegal.

Everyone is missing the point. It's not illegal to hunt over flooded corn but it sure is baiting. It should not be permitted. I would say let's prohibit hunting over all agricultural areas, no more dual purposed farming. I'm certain that would result in the return to historical levels of big ducks in Louisiana. But I'm afraid the current system is too entrenched to change. The ducks are concentrating where the wealth is. I say spread the wealth. Every farmer or commercial outfit with duck properties should set aside 1/2 of their acreage for the public to use. If a farmer wants to flood 20 acres of corn field he'd have to set aside 20 acres for you and me to hunt.

Let me preface my comment with this, I do not currently lease property. I hunt public land in southwest LA. That being said you DGuidry are a fucking idiot if you believe that last statement you posted is the way it should be. That is typical democratic bull shit.

Who is going to cover the cost of insurance for that? Who is going to pay the farmer to maintain the levees, flood the fields, etc...
