Heard there was a boatload of birds in east texas. havent seen any in la yet.

Just moved to lafayette, La from florida and was wondering about there? Could you run a tunnel hull boat with a 90 in there? thats all I brought out here @ the moment but would love to shoot a couple birds! Dont know the first person out here for that matter so any help would be great!

You would have a good chance of killing a few birds down the Wax. It use to be the best hunting around here till thousands of out of towners took it over. Don't worry about getting lost. There will plenty of others lost Saturday morning. Just drive east from Lafayette until you see about ten thousand people TRYING to putting over at a 2 boat ramp one boat at a time. Then head south with the fleet til you hit open water. Don't worry about building a blind because its 1ST COME 1ST SERVE. This means you won't have to bust your ass building a blind just take someone else's. It's really a great place! Oh also make sure to bring the 10 gauge if you want to do a little shooting this place is SKY BLASTING HEAVEN.

Sounds like I might stay home and watch football till I can meet someone that needs a extra person! Not with that blind stealing , I've had it happen to me to many times so I know how it feels! Might just have to go ahead and buy a mud motor and be done with it! Been pondering with it for a while now!

they got birds on attakapas... me and bro in law went last weekend ... but theres no water our hole is pluged up with lillies really bad and thick ....

I been huntin Attakapas for years and probably just do it cause I have a few podnahs with house boats out of Taylors Point. We definitely see more birds out on the Delta, but it sure is a good lil ride. Thought about huntin the other side the levee this year. Anybody have opinions on the Basin vs Fausee Point ie. Sandy Cove, Dautrieve, Fausse Point?

there are no teal in faussepoint/ sandy cove, especially around my blind, so there is no need for anyone to circle my blind with 5 differant boats like last yr, cause nobody shot anything.



same goes for the basin south of I-10 to charenton.

went to the wax yesterday, shot a limit by 7. was stuck on the sand bar from then on out till 2, lol. g/f had fun, we both shot pretty good and the dog did awsome. going back next weekend to finish up teal season. UF, if you want to come tag along ill be headed that way sat morning.

saw 2 teal in 3 hunts in sandy cove.

The whole season has been such a dispoointment. Glad I am staying home for the last weekend. Looking at the radar and there is more raining sitting on the coast than opening day. On opening day we rode thru the rain and then it left us alone. Right now its just sitting on top of the whole Delta pounding it out. Unbelievable.

Well it sounds like it worked out for the best that I had to work this entire month and half of next month. I didn't waste any money on teal season.. I hope more birds come down for the opening of big duck season...
