Wanted to wait till I'd put a few hrs on it before I posted a review. I was skeptical about it at 1st, but I'm digging this new rig. Jumps on plane quick, handles pretty good, easy to hide in the marsh, everything I need in a boat.

1846 Gator Tail boat
35 hp GTR (bone stock minus the pre-filter)

Speeds:
solo & light, 29 (bumped 30, but holds 29)
wife, son, & cooler, 27
3 guys, dog, full hunt load, 25-26 deep water, 27 skinny water

Thinking I might actually keep this one for a lil while.

Trying to make me second guess my second guess with the direction I want to go with my rig in spring? Haha

After a few "upgrades" to the 35, I figured I'd give a lil update.
I installed Hoyt's cam, Calen heads, Mikuni, & MM exhaust (with baffles).
Jumps on plane even faster, & response is incredible.
Speeds are deep water.
29-30 @ 3900 rpm
31 @ 4100 rpm
32, bumping 33 @ 42-4250 rpm

Still has plenty left, but needs 4700 coils to get to it.

Sadly, I'll be delivering this motor to it's new owner tomorrow & will go back to stock again

Why you selling and going stock?

I ran it stock for the whole time, but 30 hrs, it was just wore out & needed to be replaced, lol.

Nah, I sold him the motor & he asked me to mod it for him before I delivered it.

With the mods it will run those speeds with a load as well right?

Since I couldn't trim up to sweet spot, I still had plenty left. I'd say she should still be running 31-32 with a load since I'd be able to trim it up some more. I really wish I'd have more time with it so I could put it thru the wringer, but there's a deadline to meet.

I was just wondering because to gain 3 mph on top speed unloaded doesnt seem worth it but to go 3 mph faster than you could by yourself in a stock now moded out running with a load seems worth it... If that made sense.

Makes perfect sense. I think based on the mph:rpm ratio, it would run 35-36 with the 4700 coils. That would be well worth the additional cost IMHO.

1846 hunt deck, no hunt deck? anything special about the hull or a off the line boat?

How stable is the boat? Would it be stable enough for hunting and fishing?

I hunt 3 guys (200+lbs each), & 70lb dog out of it without any issues. Boat's plenty stable in open water too.

I am not 200+ pounds. I need to do the high rev coils also. I got more power I could get to with the coils

LOL!!!!!! Was talking about the other 2 that were in the boat a bunch (brother & Fenn).

I'm ordering some coils Monday. Call me if you want me to get you a set too.
