 Re: Shotgun need advise
out of all my guns in order..it woud be 1. browning a5 2. browning maxus. 3.. sbe 2. and 4. the browning silver. Im a fan of gas operated guns... recoil doesnt bother me any but you literally cant feel your gun go off with field loads. the sbe2 is old faithful but you just better make sure the bolt closes all the way otherwise youll get just get a click. I like the actions of the maxus and silver alot more...they will rip your finger off if not careful. Just pick one that shoulders best. Get a browning!!!

 Re: Shotgun need advise
SX3 is an excellent choice, I've put mine through quite a bit of abuse the last 5 years and it has never let me down.

 Re: Shotgun need advise
I would never buy expensive shotty to take the the blind, but I must say I have a Stoeger 3500 and love it so far no issues. If I do have a problem with it I also have my 15 year + mossberg 500 that has never had an issue.

 Re: Shotgun need advise
I would never take a cheap shotgun to the blind...again. All it takes is once, learned my lesson.

 Re: Shotgun need advise
I can respect that, but if you ask me how many 2k shotguns I have the answer would be none. I guess the Mossberg 500 that my dad handed down to me has never let me down no matter what kind of hunting I was doing. Hell I could use it as a boat paddle if need be. Then everyone was talking about how nice it was to shoot a semi-auto I figured I would give it a try. So far I really love the 3500 and for the price it would be hard to beat. Now if we are talking about tactical weapons I go all out and I really love the mossberg 590A1 tactical 12 guage. I even brought it to shoot sporting clays with it. Best way to practice shooting moving targets for that gun. If I had the money would I buy a 2k semi prob not, but if I had the money I would buy a 2k O/U.

 Re: Shotgun need advise
I've shot a Berretta AL390 Silver mallard Camo version for the past 15+ yrs and it has never let me down. I am looking at buying the newer version Beretta A400. You can't go wrong with any Beretta shotgun. I put a lot of time in the blind during duck and goose season. Some of my buddies shoot Bennelli shotguns and they swear by them. I've never witnessed them have any problems while hunting. You definitely get what you pay for in a shotgun. I also own a Remingtons 870, 1100 and Mossbergs. They stay at home while waterfowl season is going on. Best thing to do is try some out and you'll find out fast which one fits you. Best of luck.

 Re: Shotgun need advise
Bennelli basically makes Stoeger, difference is Bennelli has a better fit and feel but the inertia system in the Stoeger are the same basic parts at least that is what I am told by some Bennelli guys. I would say that they made a decent semi-auto for the guy that does not have the kind of cash for their top of the line guns.

 Re: Shotgun need advise
If I was going to get a middle of the road semi auto, I'd look at the beretta 3901. They seem to be pretty nice for the $.
I know a few people who had the stoeger M200 and had awful luck with them. That has made me a bit leery of them. Of course I haven't heard lots of bad press on the 3500 either.

 Re: Shotgun need advise
BERETTA A400 XTREME! you wont regret it, i shot mine from teal season to end of goose season without cleaning and never had a hangup, shoots any shell and makes a 3n half inch feel like a 3in. Its well worth the money.

 Re: Shotgun need advise
Not to knock the guys that have a stoeger but I know that if you take that gun to gander mtn they will not take them in on trade in or anything they are on the do not take list. I have friends that have them and have noting but problems every hunt and some that love them. Personally I would rather spend the money and get a gun to last a really long time. My dad has had a SBE for almost 20 years and has only replace the ejector pin. I picked up a used SBE 5 years ago for 800 and I would never shoot another gun
