Post Bowfishing line
Anybody have trouble with there bowfishing line getting bunched up in the reel? Its a ams pro retrieve bottle style reel, when it comes out its all kinked up for about the first 5 to 10 ft.

I use 400# fast flight and it still does it but not as bad. Best thing I've found is when I get on tha water I throw my arrow in to get my line wet and it helps. That orange line that comes in ams from factory freighs way to fast for my likings and hangs up in the guides on tha roller.

Sounds like you have too much line in there, cut it off 3 feet at a time and keep trying it until it smooth's out.

The lighter the Line (200#) the better the arrow flight - but more prone to line twist/kink the first 15 feet to so.

When you go up to 400# or 600#, you get less line twist, but arrow flight may suffer unless you have a good long "loop" around the arrow.

Here's a good video that I saw and I've used this "loop to loop" tying System and it's eliminated line loop/twist and allows a "quick change" of arrows as well. Good luck:

Order you one of these http://www.amsbowfishing.com/online-sto ... ottle.html and and some #640 spectra line. You can put 40 yards of line with that bottle and kinking is minimal

Just put a bigger bottle on it. The real tree energy drinks in the aluminum bottle, or any pint beer in the aluminum bottle will thread right onto the retriever reel and won't bottle neck on you. I'll get a pick tonight if you want.

We did that and haven't had any problems at all.
