Post 18x54 GTB with 35GTR
well yesterrday i was able to pick up my boat from gator tail. I put it in the water about an hour later and i love it. It is the extreme hull and handles very well. It has hoyt's stage 1 (cam, heads, exhaust). When i took it out it was me (240lbs) and a buddy (150lbs) 9 gallons of gas trolling motor with battery ice chest with budlight and the normal boating stuff. I was only running 26 bumping 27 @4150rpm, same stuff in the boat and just me 28 bumping 29at the same rpm. i think i should be getting a little more out of it I have seen the same size boat on here with stock motor on here running the same speed. thanks in advanced.

I have done that already the best speed I get is @ 4150rpm. The prefilter is gone also, and it also backfires when revving down. Is that normal?

What octane fuel are you running? Also you have to think about how much boat sits in the water. I have a 17x54 gtb and can bump 30 by myself(when I can keep the bow from bouncing). My buddy had a 18x48 build by Uncle-J with a 7.5 ft rake, he doesn't have much sitting in the water once he gets on plane. He has less drag and weight than what I have and stays infront and gets on plane quicker(maybe 20 yards in front).

I run 93 and it's gets on plane very quick and has loads of power down low. Would a carb help me with top end? It's it worth the money?

It's only had about 5 hours on it when I got the speeds, will it get better after it breaks in? Should I just call Hoyt and tell him what's going on and go from there?
