You see that one BWT drake that already has good color on his head! pretty nice
crazy how some birds are almost full plume before opening day and others take til end of season

shoo. the first wave was in mid august. there was lots and lots of them then. it is early for the greenies and widgeon

Wouldn't it be cool if you could hunt them whenever they showed up like in the good ole days. Not this 4 day season bullshit when all the teal are in Mexico. Oh yeah, bring back the Spring season also.

The first wave of teal hit us early also. I went move the pump yesturday ant was amazed at the number of birds. Looked like a scene from canada but with blue wings. Saw about a dozen mallards 2 doz summer mallards in the mix

four hundred wood ducks and about a hundred mallards showed up this morning. Ray called it last night. He said the northwest wind and full moon would ramp them right out of south dakota and Iowa for the overnight floight. Of course he has a bunch of biologist buddies up there that e-mail him when they see the ducks bunching up and leaving.
Anytime he calls and says they are movin is when you want to get to the blind the next day.

I was out in the boat this morning and watched very large flocks of teal moving through diving into the flooded grasses.I could have shot limits while fishing on the front of the boat.I did not see this many teal during the entire teal season and I was only out there for about 2 hours.
