Got start on a platform for the boat. Making it out of EMT and decking with marine plywood and sears hydro turf. Still gotta find some thin steel to make gussets for the front corners and put a brace in the middle going down to the deck. My buddy works for GE so I got some 400 watt sodiums for the front and some LED s for the sides.

Just wondering why build a platform and not just put light brackets on there what am I missing? I know they look good but I have seen plenty of flouder rigs with just lights.

I guess your wright she would have to be good looking to be that close.

Finished the frame. My buddy brought me some insane lights to go on it. A couple of 400 watt sodiums and 5 LED's. now for decking and mounting.

I'd rip those off the boat on the first trip. They don't really need to hang off the sides and be angled all crazy like that.

Shit they were free lol! I ain't going to buy nothing til I know they work or not. I haven't tightened up the brackets yet to set them they are just kinda sitting on there loose. They are definitely big! Gonna give them a shot. May look like a MLB field at night. As far as them hanging over the platform, where I will be 99% of the time is straight up lake with no trees and such.

Build the platform taller and mount them under it, it would be 100 times better, no bs to hang on, tear up, cut lines, trip over, get burned by, etc....

You'll need a cherry picker to take it on and off. Lol. Light brackets are way more easy and less hassle to deal with than decks. If your boat is gonna be used for other things during the weekend you'll see what I'm talking about.

Changed the config up a little. Final design until I see how it lights the water up.

Those 3 big lights should be all you need

Tested the rig for an hour last night. Works great! I had to drive cause my buddy was scared to drive the gtr. These are the first 2 fish he's ever shot. He was pumped! I love the setup. Throws good light . Didn't bog the lil 25 either. Didn't check speeds but with 450 lbs (2 guys) and the platform and Genny we were still at the rev.limiter (4200) and moving good.
