 Mudbuddy 7000 Good or Bad?
Please give me some feedback on this.. I hear everyone hates the 7000s because of constantly messing up, having to tweak carbs a lot. This is all he said she said, so please any owners have any comments? Thanks.

Them guys are right, you will be meesing with the carbs, no bottom end grunt with the dual carb setup, Single carb is the way to go and not near as much hassle! Now if tuned right it'll run on the top end. Not many 7000's last a long time. Compression ratio isn't right on them

My buddy has one its a 2010 it runs great. I think it has like 60 hrs on it now. The only problems he's had is troddle line freezing up and there is a short on the fuel pump. I guess only time will tell.

Re: Mudbuddy 7000 Good or Bad?
I have a 2011 with 160hrs on it and I like it. Seems to run good for what I use it for. I have had to adjust the carbs some but it's not to bad. It doesn't have a lotta low end grunt but I put a hammer prop on it and it does better now. Keeps me off the limiter and gets me on plane faster. Will I get another one? Pry not. Will I buy another mud buddy? Maybe. But it'll be a single carb. I know I gonna catch hell for this but its pushin an Excel 1754 F4 .125" hull. I like the setup and it works well for me and what I do with it. To each their own. I'm not flyin a mud buddy/ excel banner I'm just sayin I like my setup. As for the customer service? I do everything thru my dealer and they take good care of me at SW marine. Plus I don't use my rig everyday.

Re: Mudbuddy 7000 Good or Bad?
I enjoyed my mb when I had one. I wen with pro-drive for the fact that they drive more like an outboard and when I need reverse its usually to pull me out of some thick shit

Re: Mudbuddy 7000 Good or Bad?
I know several people running them w/ no problems and they will haul ass. HOWEVER, most all the motor guys that work on MB and other brands I've talked to will tell you for a dependable, low-maintenance, workhorse...go w/ the internals and single carb. I like mine for hunting and just everyday BS. I will do single carb again for the bottom end and hole shot when I get another. Just my $0.02.

Re: Mudbuddy 7000 Good or Bad?
my buddy who I run with a lot has a BD5500 (dual card) and I just upgraded my motor to 5500 mag
I prefer the single....Less upkeep and half the cost initially.

Re: Mudbuddy 7000 Good or Bad?
I forgot to add my mb was a 5500mag. It was a beast on the low end for sure. In a 1748 I planned and ran 25 mph with 3 men, a 70pound lab, 15 - 2x6x16's , two ice chest, and a generator. I had to have at least 12 gallons of gas and 150 pound person in the front to run it wide open. Top end with two people was 35 in 20' of water.

Re: Mudbuddy 7000 Good or Bad?
my "buddy" had one and it was very hit or miss. The thing ran like a bat out of hell on a 18' Gator Trax but it was just plain unreliable. The engine case cracked twice, the trim control started on fire, and just about every bolt fell out of it... and it had under 40 hrs on it.... Not to mention the customer service was awful and it was a headache getting it fixed. But like I said, it was fast-but just not reliable.
