Post Thinking About getting a ProDrive, Opinions Please!
Ran a 1748 Uncle J, With a 35 GTR last year..loved it until I was running large loads..Im tired of fighting the tiller thrust and worrying about seating placement of my group. I know I could go with a bigger Boat set up and not have this problem..but still I guess im a wimp lol I want to ride in boat like im driving an outboard.. Ive never driven a prodrive and do not have time to go to any test runs.. Needless to say, what boat package would yall recommend me getting if I run 4 people + a dog, and a heavy load of gear..I hunt the Mississippi river and hunt over many decoys..and would still like to maintain SPEED..so please take all that into consideration.. I can't afford duals. But I also know you cant ball on a budget lol..Im open to modded motors etc. Thanks for your 2 cents!

To add to this,,,i dont know anyone that carries a load that has said i wish i had a smaller boat! And i think its only 100 bucks a foot!!!

Only time i seen a little boat benefit is mudridding/playing and a little speed. Once modded that speed is not much diff thou.

18x54 with a console if you have room for it. Never worry about tiller torque again.

If you dont have room,,consider a side console!!! Keeps most of the room in the boat and is bad ass on long runs.

Console and hydraulic steering eliminates all torque transferred to your hand/arm!

The one thing that is true about a prodrive, and this is not a bias issue, its as close to driving a tiller outboard as it gets. Very little tiller torque. I had mine on a 19'4" x 50 and it would toat a load. My new rig is a 17'6"x48 with a little juice ;) . No gps numbers yet but its as close to defying the laws of physics

I'm not a fan of mods. The more mods the more problems and more expensive they are. I have a 18x44 gator trax. The other night frogging was the first time I had GPS speeds. 4 people total weight of 800lbs body weight 2 ice chest and extra 5gal fuel we were running 23mph steady. There was not a whole lot of tiller torque either. If you feel unwanted torque adjust your trim till you feel less. Thats what I do. I dont have hardly any problems with tiller torque.

I was just saying I am not a fan of mods. Never gave anyone advise. 2 friends have mods and they are constantly working on their motors. Counld be something they are doing or did wrong idk. Its just my opinion on mods. Anyone who prefers them hey thats their choice. I just stated an opinion never gave any advice.
