Hydro is the way to go. U won't be upset if u get it. But if it's too much coun the manual isn't bad to deal with at all. You will be happy with the reverse either way

If you ride in stumps, logs, etc...get manual and a pin puller. The manual is more durable and can take more abuse.

Re: wanting to know whats the best reverse for a pro drive?
If you are getting a tiller and will only be going in reverse occasionally get the manual. If you do alot of reversing the hydro is nice but not nessasary.
The extra repair work on the hydro reverse system is not worth it. Pain in the ass. Do a search on reverse hydro cylinders here. I have rebuilt mine once and it needs it again. Seals fail and fluid bypasses. Switches have to be replaced occasionally and they are 60 bucks a pop. Bearings on the electric motors that run the pump fail and have to be replaced.
All that I have mentioned above haven't only happened to me. When I call Peck he says immediately oh yeah this is how you got to fix that. Meaning its happening to more then I.
My advice save your money. The only time I see it benefits me is frogging. I can cover way more territory then my buddies.
Get the manual with one of those pin pullers. There are a few of them out there. Best one I have seen has a handle similar to the GTR one and is easy to grab.
Center consoles need them.

Is it true that Pro Drive will have regular reverse and the rotating lower unit too? If so, that sounds like it would be a great thing .

naj I have the manual reverse on mine. Looking to get a pin puller. I saw one that pulls the pin and looks just like the choke knob. Do you know where I can find the one with the squeeze trigger like you say you saw similar to the GTR reverse lever?

If I went back to a Pro-Drive, there is no way that I would not get auto reverse.

Re: wanting to know whats the best reverse for a pro drive?
A guy I work with had problems with his seals leaking on his ram. The ram is very close to the muffler which is causing the issue. After his second time repairing it he insulated it and fabbed a shield to reduce the heat that it was being exposed to. Never had any problems with it since. But as far as the trim switch Im not sure. I went manual to save me on cost. Are there times I wish I had it yes when I got stuck really good do I regret saving $1500 no.
