 500+
for a guided hunt with the Hammer Time guy in Arkansas. I'm sure the hunting awsome in the timber and rice, but dam 500+ and if you have less than 4 peeps, your partnered with some other group of assholes. Doesn't he know we're in a resession. Maybe I can talk him to take IOU's or food stamps? What you'll think? Until then I'll just have to rely on my MMT bros to help me find some green in the timber. PLEASSSSSSSSSSSSE . Maybe that includes an Arkansas hooker?

I dunno about huntin' with some dude named "Hammer time" anyways. Sounds like a cheesy wrestling name.

 Re: 500+
At one time he had a hunting TV show. He became a celebrity and made a name for himself and all that jazz. He is probably a wealth of knowledge though; and it might be worth the money to be exposed to the calling skills. I think the dude has been a waterfowler all his life and he aynt no spring chicken. Everybody can always learn something new. Fact of the matter is for $500 the price is reasonable. Google some other paid hunts and prepare thyself for sticker shock.
Besides all that; that area is probably about as good as it gets.

Know what you mean about the guide fee. You ought to check out what the Duck Commander charges. I guess Celebrity is expensive. Most Guides earn every cent they charge, just seems it can get out of hand at times. Supply and demand.

 Re: 500+
Indybill has said it all. Supply and demand.
The fact of the matter is; particularly with duck hunting, and really all types of hunting now; there isn't anything cheap about the sport; the pastime; the heritage.
Think about it this way. Alot of guys that pay that kind of fee are busy guys. Some might be bankers or they could be lawyers or a blue collar man. If time is short and responsibilitites are high between work and family; they might just schedule a 3-5 day hunt; fly in and fly out. The trip might cost them between $1000-3000. They obviously can afford it; and if you add up the cost of ownership of hunting leases; ATV's; and mudboats/motors; you actually come out even or way ahead cost to cost.
Botom line is if that is his asking fee; he is getting it. The demand is there.
As said earlier; most guides earn their fee.
I went on a paid bowhunt a few years back. All I was told to bring was gear. The food was prepared and everything else was done for me. It was worth the cost.
Every good sportsman should have the pleasure of being catered to at least once; even if it has to be paid for.
