 Re: Patterning SBE2!!!!
Those sure shots are cheap too huh?? I'm trying to get away from black cloud to me they are just an overpriced shell that does the same damn thing a cheaper shell does than they make a choke "SPECIFICALLY" for that expensive shit so you spend more money on that junk

Kicks extended range full. I leave it in all season and it has proven to be very consistent.

 Re: Patterning SBE2!!!!
I put a new barrel(sbe 2) on my old sbe this year. So far my factory mod is out performing everything with 75-80% patterns at 40 yards.

 Re: Patterning SBE2!!!!
I tried with several carlsons and brileys. Both brands work great in all the other guns I own but for that barrel I haven't found a load/choke combo that will beat it. I've tried tighter constrictions, more open construction, heavier payloads, lighter payloads, faster and slower but that factory mod throws a damn good consistent pattern.
The only thing I don't like about it is its a flush choke. Atleast with extended chokes if it swells in the threads you can grab it with a small pipe wrench or pliers to get it out.

On the same train with kicks. I've been shooting hevi metal with it for the past few years and it's done good so far.

 Re: Patterning SBE2!!!!
To me the heck metal is just like the black cloud over priced and have to buy a choke specifically for it I don't believe in all that but than again never tried it so I won't knock it just think its a little on the pricey side to do the same thing a Winchester or Remington will do

 Re: Patterning SBE2!!!!
I spent a ton of time and money testing this out a few years back. I tried kicks, Indian creek, Carlson, Briley, Angle Port, Wad Wizard and Patternmaster chokes. I ended up keeping the Paternmaster and sold all the others. I like shooting one shell for geese and ducks. Rogers had a great sale on Remington nitro steel 3.5" BB 1 9/16oz @1300 fps, so I bought several cases. That combo is flat out deadly! Have killed geese and ducks out to 75+ yards with it. Not that it's a habit, but some times you get those sailers. I can reach out and crush them no problem. I won't shoot anything else. It also patterns my lead 5's great for Sodak pheasants, and have killed 3 turkeys with it. Each at 20+ yards.

 Re: Patterning SBE2!!!!
One thing to keep in mind with pattern masters, they don't perform as well with faster loads. Anything in the 1500 fps and higher range. Now I have no first hand knowledge because I've never owned a pattern master but that's what I've been told. Also if you check their website I believe it will state this.

 Re: Patterning SBE2!!!!
I patterned the red box federals at 1500 and they were fine. I wouldn't go any faster tho. I think they discounted those shells and now federal only does blue box speed shok or something like that.

If price is your only concern with black cloud either shoot better or Work overtime to buy black cloud
