Look at the ironic situation here. Employed individual paying (I assume) for his health insurance for himself and his family shoots threat to his household at 2 AM in his yard. Young professional thief (as described by his brother) shot in presumed attempt at some sort of property crime against homeowner. In defense of his household, homeowner shoots perpetrator and as a result he is arrested and loses his employment, and unless arrangements have been made looses health insurance for pregnant wife, self and child. Alleged perpetrator now receiving FREE medical care at our taxpayer funded LSU hospital while victim left without income and medical care for self and family! New Orleanians are daily beset by criminals who rob, commit thievery, kill and maim. A lynch mob justice before the man is even indicted or convicted, what ever happened to the American beacon of justice, innocent until proven guilty? Even our esteemed President believes all Americans have a right to medical insurance and how do you treat your employee and family? . Even police officers who are awaiting disposition of their charges still collect a paycheck and presumably their health insurance.

Fyi,,,the guy that woke up to a criminal in his gated yard was now arrested for 2nd deg murder. Looks like they are basing this case off of race already. Some evidence that came out was that the shell casing was 30ft away from the criminal.

Im pretty sure all of you know, some guns can eject casings a good 10-15ft....

Not sure how this will pan out, but it looks like its grabbing some attention of what good is left in the black community. One black organizer finally said in Orleans parish it has gotten very bad!!! The black on black crime is ignored on a daily basis, yet a 14yr old "criminal" is shot and it causes a stir!!! He is calling the childs parents out, as they should bear all the blame at this point!!!

His neighbors have the kid on camera from earlier in the day checking out houses on his block. One even said that he wanted to call the police and report it but he didn't want to be labeled as profiling the kid. Landrys entire house has a raw iron gate around it which is locked at night. He didn't know it was a kid, 2 am and dark, who could know that. And he saw the person reaching for something then shot. Unfortunate that 1st it was a kid and 2nd that he was hit in the head. Anyone would have done the same. Ae you supposed to wait for an intruder to raise a gun at you before you can protect yourself and family on your gated property?

What they don't show you is how many of those are committed by blacks. I would venture to say it is a very high percentage. I don't blame the guy one bit for pulling that trigger defending his home and property. I hope more do the same.

this is not as clear cut as the martin case, there was overwhelming evidence that he attacked Zimmerman which justified the shooting. I don't look good for the white man, the law is not clearly on his side in this case. But I think the community needs to get behind him and send a message that people are willing to take a chance to protect their families. I know a lot of people that live in NO, there are still some beautiful areas there and something has to be done and it may come to what has just happened.
