Sounds like a answering machine that mentions no parts sales to non Customers would help. If thats your policy. Also would stop unwanted work stoppages. Pick a hour out the day for call backs.

I deal with homeowners a lot with what I do. I have to smile and bite my tongue when they "imply" that they know more than me on how to pour concrete. Gotta make them feel smart, cause at the end of the day they are writing the check to me.

Well i realize that there are a lot of people that buy and dont know how to install or know what they are doing.. Im only 21 but i spent over half those years in my neighbors shop rebuilding motors and what have you with him so i am by no means a licensed mechanic, but i know my way around a motor and what im doing with my hands when it comes to them. I just have not been able to get ahold of anyone to order the part.

But with that being said, Calen actually just PMd me and his reply was he is way to busy at the moment and cant hardly keep parts in stock for the motors he is rebuilding and working on. So i am thankful for his reply and information, now i can move on and not be waiting around.

All and all I will still use Calen for what ever I need. It has already been said go to his shop for 5 mins. and you will see why he is so busy.

Boat Dr took my call, got me the parts I needed, and spent 10 minutes answering my clarification questions on installation.

He was pleasant and helpful to deal with. Not disparaging any other builder, just sharing a positive experience.

I understand that the cam went bad on him and its not his fault.

BUT, I learned a long time ago that Sportsmen get stupid after July 4th. Plenty people quit fishing and start tending to deer stands, food plots, and anything hunting related.

For a mud motor mechanic there is no busier timeof year, and it won't stop until Christmas and then there might be a lull.

Just bought a new transmission from GMC dealer in Morgan City. They won't talk me through the installation!!

So aggravated!!

He'll I wasn't buying parts I was trying to buy a complete motor and then when that didn't work I order motor somewhere else then tried to find out ab adding mods and well still haven't heard back its kewl though

I'm just adding to this by saying not all calls not being returned is not just for parts!

One another note. MMT is a small percentage of his business.. Crawfish were plentiful this year just like every other year. The commercial fisherman fish 7 days a week. Which means that they are constantly breaking shit. They need their boat asap cause thats how they earn their living. Ive seen them waiting in their truck while the mechanics are still working on their motors.

I tried to take a nap. Couldn't.....


I think I'm losing just as much sleep as Calen.

Man ! Pisses me off to! Only one thing makes me madder than my motor mechanic not calling me back! SOME boat builders . Think about THAT!
