Post Stage II
Im looking at doing some mods to my motor,

Anyone have some pros or cons with an EVT Stage 2 that they would like to share? ie, are you happy with what you got, would you do it again, and have you had any failures?

Thanks in advance for keeping the nijjering out.

Ok,

working with some guys on Uship to see if they can get it to, and mike can get it done and back or ready to ship before 21 Nov.

The way it is looking is that 21-29 of Nov might be the only chance I can get at actually using it for the near future.

I would not do it over again for the life of me in the next 5 yrs. Why 5 yrs you ask? I do not like being a first at anything any longer, I do not have the time for it. I know in 5 yrs the people who are modifying motors today will have most of the kinks worked out by then and we will have more reliable compopnet to start with from Briggs and Kohler.

For the money spent the gains are not worth it. Now my rig with a EVT Stage 1 upgrade ran good with just the bolt on mods. I did not have as much low end and I do now, but my rig ran better with the stage 1 I had. My next motors will have intake and exhaust upgrades and that its!!! Once you go inside the case you will have a lot of downtime…..IMO!

Pros of a stage 2:
1. 1 pc valves
2. low end a little better.
3. chicks dig it.

Cons of a stage 2:
1. $$$$$
2. Keep loosing case bolts
3. need to know how to turn a wrench.
4. reliability
5. cost of repairs after warranty if up.

Ill add more later I’m sure.

Now I only have first had experience with EVT but I’m pretty sure any mod of this type will have the same turnout after a few hours on it.

PS. If you want a stage 2 buy mine and we can work out a trade plus cash deal.

TBS is right.. Keep the revs in the 4400-4700 range and the motor will hold together.. Start running 4800 and up and it is only a matter of time before it comes apart.. Trust me on this one..

Good advice for a guy like me... My Brand New EVT Stage II is sittin on the table at the shop waiting for the airboat to be finished... yes airboat. I modded to get the torque up so I can swing a little more prop and get more pitch. I will post info when its done.

Just learn how to go 30mph at 4000 Rpm or less...

With the right hull and prop it is doable stock...
