 Decoy Conditioning?
I know ive read somewhere on here that a few of you are spraying something on your decoys to protect them and make the paint last longer?

 Re: Decoy Conditioning?
I sprayed some older hotbuys I won at a DU banquet with some Krylon 53530 flat clear coat. After 2 season of use its apparent which ones where sprayed with the clear. We killed lots of birds over them, so I really don't think they mind to much. Probably wouldn't recommend on some higher quality deeks.

 Re: Decoy Conditioning?
You notice the clear coat turns the white on the decoys to yellow after sitting in the sun for a while?
I'm carving my own decoys to wrap in burlap, and have heard this can happen when coating them with clear.

 Re: Decoy Conditioning?
I'd say don't. You can't definitely see which ones are clear coated. Just do one and see for yourself. Just touch up the paint every year if your that concerned
