They have been putting a new bridge in across from my house. With the storm heading this way the parish thought it would be wise to clear out the canal. Operator got a little to close to the edge.

This reminds me of an ordeal that went on around my place almost 10 years ago. A guy decides to dig out a spot on his property which is right off the Hatchie River. They stick an excavator that's about the same size as the one in the pictures above. After a couple days of being unable to get it out, they decide to bring in an even bigger excavator to dig out the first one. Of course they end up sticking that one too! They decided to leave both of them there and file them on insurance. Below are pictures. I've even included a screen shot of Google Earth that shows both of them stuck.
