Ordered me a set last week, just because they look cool. Glad to hear they sound cool too! Looking forward to getting them on my small block.

Gains in mph will vary from boat to boat. Some have reported 2-3 MPH gain from the exhaust. The bottom end picks up a lot though with throttle response. Variance will occur based on carb, prop and how the engine is sealed up or whether it is lean etc.

Thanks for the update Richard. Did you do a back to back? I will call you.
Thanks

Thanks for the review.
Gecker, you mentioned a clamp mount, how about throwing up a picture? Oh, and does the mufflers come with any warranty? I know we had lengthy discussion here about warranties in another thread, but makes me feel better knowing if one of the pipes breaks off I would have some coverage. I hate to ask all these questions, but I'm too poor to buy twice.

[quote="richardb"]Just put on the new exhaust it sounds really good. And I like the quiet option which takes no time to change. I did change the mounting system and did not have to drill and tap into my belt housing. I still need to clean up the new brackets I made but the whole project took about 45 min.
get some video i want to here them !!!

Post Re: New Gecker Exhaust System
Sorry guys I took some video of the pipes but can not get it to post to the site it is a .mov file. But is the first time I went hunting with the pipes and one thing I have to say Running with (2) 170 lbs guys, 75 lbs dog, (3) dozen decoys, Blind, Ice chest and 20 mph winds I was going 22mph in deep water. when my top speed in deep water empty and no wind is a little over 25 mph. So I did not pick up and Top speed but throttle response is a lot better and it helped with some load caring. I will try the video again with a different camera.

postalpaul, yes we can make them for a Honda. Just give us a call and we will get it done.

Just want to let everyone know that we have mufflers in stock and exhaust systems in stock now for 23, 35 and 36 engines. We are only a couple of days for making and special exhausts. Give our exhaust a try. You will love it.

Richard, thanks for the sound clip. We really need to get some video of this thing!

Thanks

I personally dont care for that sound. Way too poppy IMO. I hope its the video quality thats causing it because I wouldnt want to hear that all the time.

Richard, Got your email and responded to it. They are all lean!

Tulsa, you can mount them with a clamp or with bolts. Either way it is not hard at all.

Most everyone feels like it is quieter that the stock exhaust when inside the boat. In person, it sounds like a Harley with the deep base sound. We do not have a camerea with good enough sound we found out...

Thanks

the gecker exhaust gave me at least 200 rpms, almost 2 mph,and verrry noticable bottom end throt.response.i aint breakin no speed records(whiskey + cypress swamp stumps=hooks on bottom) but glad to be back to 28mph.with the hooks,i was down to 26.something. i chose to go with the exhaust first,no regrets.prolly gonna get the adapter and air filter, maybe jets thats all,oh yeah and some steelflex.
havent tried the pipes without the baffles yet.ordered them tues.received them thurs.it took 2 people 1 12 pack to install.bent the brackets,no drillin',no hoseclamps.
the tips do get wet when coming off step though,it sizzles a bit. I LIKE EM!

Put a set on my 23 MB Mini Lite, to me they sound good, don't seem to be as loud as my EVT Exhaust was(I liked the EVT too) even with the baffles open. Don't know about gains because I had Robert at EVT do a Stage 1 kit on it too. They are a little hard to hide when trying to cover up the boat.

Cajun, they look much shorter on your motor vs. richardb's. Is it just long vs. short transom, or the picture angle throwing me off? Just wondering how often I'll be dunking them when I'm running (tall transom motor). That hot to sudden cold can't be the best for the welds over time. Do you guys think you'll have a problem with the baffle falling out like MBs crossover?

on my short transom motor, when coming off plane, the tips, jes the tips get wet enough to give a lil sizzle.i don't think it happens every single time, but the tips do get wet sometimes.on yer tall transom they prolly gonna be high enough that it may not happen at all??
the only way that the baffles could fall out is if the adjustment screws came off first.
the pic.i took was rite after install, the motor is up,thats prolly why they look shorter.
the pipes may not sound like a harley, but they dont sound like a lawnmower either.to me,they sound damn good, prolly not as loud as they look.

Put a set of the new Geckers on my 36PD and  these things are awesome. I opened the baffles all the way and it sounds like a Harley ad WOT with a load on it. havent taken the baffles out yet. would like to once just to see what kinda gains i would get from it. As is with the baffles open no other mods i picked up 400-600 RPMS and 2 mph but that is with 2 people, full cooler, 12 gal gas 60 lbs other stuff in boat. Top speed for the day 29 mph on GPS. with just me in it 31 mph gps. THese things are

I was at Gator Tail Tuesday and there was a GT with the Gecker exhaust on it. Support brackets appeared to be homemade. If I'm not mistaken the Gecker mufflers are just some chinese after market car mufflers. They are fairly cheap in cost. Just look around on the net, you'll find them.

DMC- You may find mufflers that look similar, but I assure you they are not aftermarket Chinese car mufflers. I have been at the shop and watched Sheldon's guy weld them by hand. He actually owns a patent on the internal design. One that he was awarded many years ago for the racing karts he works on.

Post Re: New Gecker Exhaust System
Thanks for the comments on the exhaust we are making. Results have varied but everyone who has purchased on has picked up a lot and loves our exhaust system. We have done our home work and it is working as planned. These things are pretty damn good and it is easy to install. The support braces are simple, easy to mount and hold the exhaust rigid. This exhaust system will not come apart and will last. The sound is awesome also.

The mufflers we use on our systems are not a take off of an import car exhaust. We have adapted aspects from multiple types of designs for various applications to come up with this muffler. This one is ours.

On the Gator Tails: Our system clears the plastic cover by ALOT! Also, our system does not generate NEAR the heat that other systems do. You will find temperatures almost 200 degrees cooler at the outside of the system and of course that translates into performance and overall durability when it comes to running lean. The result is less heat being transferred to the plastic cover that Gator Tail uses. One of the first systems we ever built was on a Gator Tail. We have a guy here locally that has one and we have access to it all the time.

Thanks

PS: We have some exciting new products coming out shortly. Stay tuned.
