 Re: RPM ?
Maybe 1-2 mph.

 RPM ?
While there is always a desire to go faster and 500 more RPM's will acheive that; Maybe 1-2 mph increase. Running the motor at this accelerated RPM will have a negative effect on the motors longeivety. That's a 14% increase in the factory rated RPM output.

 Re: RPM ?
There are crawfishermen in South Louisiana that have thousands of hours on their engines.

 Re: RPM ?
One thing about an opinion they are like a--holes everyone has one and sometimes they smell. Deadbird8 is a wealth of researched and educated information. Most FE's on this don't offer information without knowledge. Might want to consider the information from people who have had experience with these motor applications.

 Re: RPM ?
I would like to know how a crawfisherman can run his motor at that high of rpms for that many hours? How is he picking up his cages by going that fast? I see people picking up crab cages all the time and there is no way that they can run that fast and pick up a cage. I can understand that they are putting 3000 hours on their engines but it would seem that most of the rpms are well below that number. Please have a crawfisherman come on here and explain how he can run cages at 4200 rpms so I can start picking up more crab cages and make more money.

 Re: RPM ?
thanks for de advice guys... i ran my motor for several hours on end @ 4199 rpms with great success yesterday! i watched my tiny tach close and made sure i didn't exceed that motor crashing predetermined nomenclature of 4200! i wonder if i can get 3000 hours out of her btw: i made sure not to idle, as soon as she fired up we went straight to 4199. i didn't want to cheat the brav01 / jn70549 theoretic scale of engine longevity!

 Re: RPM ?
i know this thread is very old but generator application's with this motors run at 4150 rpm's the 3600 rpm make is a set stanard for a hp number and diffrent applications all run at diffrent rpm's and yes if the 35 CDI cant handle 4300 rpms then why the coils or set for 4300 rpm!!! some people need to do some homework before tryin to bash people on here!!! Deadbird8 is a very knowledge man in these motor's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
