I highly doubt they will cancel the show. The duck dynasty brand has exploded. Wal-Mart has a ton of their crap. I was there yesterday and saw they even have toy trucks with duck dynasty on them now. A&E has way too much invested in the brand to just bail. It will blow over. Remember the whole Chick-Fil-A is anti-gay thing? Hasn't seemed to hurt there business.

I don't watch the show and prob never will, but I think Phil is talking out of both side of his mouth. Nobody is more greedy then the DD bunch at the moment. If he wants to spread the word of the lord, thats cool, but he's taking a bunch of peoples money while doing it. I think he should be able to say whats on his mind and should not catch all this shit behind it, he's not the first this has happened to and he won't be the last. I would have said the same thing, but nobody gives 2 fuks what i think or say, so I'm pretty safe there. Whats happening to him comes with the fame and fortune.

I dont think its greed. Its called business. You think if somebody told me "hey man we can sell a lot of shit and make a lot of cash" I would say nah, man I dont want to seem greedy… Phil had the nuts to stick by his beliefs regardless of the cash on the line. I can do nothing but respect a man like that. Not many are willing to do that.

I don't really think its the whole group that's greedy either. This whole thing is really just Willie. Phil would rather just hide out in the woods or on the water. Have any of you read the exact comment he made? Pretty hilarious honestly.

saw on the news a comment released by a gay rights group that added " african americans " to their statement.

i thought to my self " where did that come from". i did not see or hear what phil said but heard of the incident. did he say anything about aa's ? if not it seemed like their attempt to drag in some more contriversity.

He was asked about life growing up during the jim crow laws era. He said that in his experience, he never met a black person who was unhappy or hated white folks. The media (and of course Al and Jesse) ran with it that Phil said he wanted Jim Crow laws back and that he was a racist.

They were one of the last school districts in the country to comply with desegregation laws and that only occurred within the last 10 years. West Monroe is a good old boys town, always will be, and I mean that in a way that flows with this post.

the old sweet lady that lives down the road, still says " that ****** man or ****** woman" all the time. this woman has no racial intent at all. its just the way she grew up. in most eyes she is a racist because she says ******. but to her shes not doing anything wrong.

i do understand that racisim and reverse racisim is alive and well (the latter getting worse) in the US. but there has to be some understanding of culture or upbringing. meaning- i could care less who moves in next door. but i wouldnt want my son to date interracial.

I think all the schools in Pierre Part are mostly white still. There was none while I was growing up. Shoot you didn't see many living in that area at all. Wonder why?

Hell a rumor went around for a little while that WM was trying to change the name of the city to Trenton to try not to have any affiliation to Monroe. But never believed it. I guess that's why it was a rumor!

just read this and would like some answers to this!#1 can anyone name a white neighborhood that blacks started moving into and the whites started moving out of? the neighborhood went to shit and property values went down. #2 whites moved into black neighborhood and blacks left and property value went down.

We only had a handful of them around here growing up and to be honest I never really met one until I joined the military. When they created a city basketball team it was like it became a hotspot for big city refugees.
