I was told by the fine gentleman at GT to run 93 octane through the motor that it performs better with the higher octane, as a matter of fact they said they require 93 if at all possible. what do you guys think, will running higher octane with higher temperatures burn the motor up or not hurt it at all?

I run 93. I used to run 87 and had backfiring and some detonation, 93 cured it. others will disagree but thats my story.. and I am sticking to it.

I just started putting 93 after over 100 hours running 87 octane.

Just for the record, i used to run 93 in my 23 mini, and it got to the point where it wouldnt hardly run at all. She'd scoot about 100 yards then die. I was told by a guy that works on MM's and he said that the smaller engines couldn't handle the higher octanes well because it didnt have enough combustion. It was flooding out because all the gas wasnt combusting. I took the carb apart 4 times cause i figured something was wrong w/ the carb. Over-hauled it completely twice and still had problems. Dumped out the 93, went back w/ 87, and havent had a single problem since. So, as for me, she's drinkin 87 from now on. Now i can buy coffee and doughnuts w/ the money i save on the fill-ups

93 in all my small engine stuff

well i gots the stage 1 and im kinda thinkin that the 93 octane and half a bottle of the octane booster makes it run better than mixing half 116 and 93. still kinda unsure , have to do some more testing. but what i did invest in was a large water fuel seperator mounted on the transom, its a must do in my book

go run it in some rough area with some cheap gas and listen to it. you'll only do it once.

This is a pic of what it says about the octane in my moms car. But it doesn't have anything like that written anywhere on the lawnmower engine strapped to the back of my boat, so I'll stick to the cheap stuff

1 half part 112 Sunoco
1 half part 93 pump gas

look fellas, u can drink up all the koolaid u want, but it's the same frikkin lawnmower engine that's on t-boy's lawn service lawn mower. and t-boy ain't gonna run the good stuff in the lawn mower.

unless u done went into the motor, regular unleaded is fine.

93 makes a big difference in all the engines

I only run 101 low lead av gas its only about 40 cents more a gallion but I have high compresion and the valves like the lead and it smells so good, and doesn't spoil in two weeks like today regular gas best of all there is no ethanol that eats rubber.

Where yall gettin the 101 at? I cant find anything over 97 around here and its unleaded
