feel free to call me lazy. i know there is lots of holsters that would work ok. i got a buddy that sports a shoulder holster with a damn big ass s&w 44 magnum. i have lived to be 49 so far and have never needed a gun. i feel if i ever have to use a gun it will be face to face. i dont think there is a human that can hurt me if he has a 22 magnum round in his head. i just dont see the need for anything else where i live. we get into some kind of civil war or some shit then i will pull out 90 round drums and my glock 17 with 30 round mags. i dont like carrying a wallet, i dont wear a ring or necklace and i damn sure am not wearing a holster and full size gun even if someone gave it to me free LOL. i have no problem with people being loaded for bear. i just load for a democrat or 2.

That 42 is a nice wee piece.
I like .380 as a calibre, but I handguns shoot for sport so I'm not going to get into the stopping power augment.
However spending range time and practical shooting with a small frame is hard work.

Exactly. Carry what you will practice with and shoot the best. It's a lot easier to get good at shooting a bigger gun, and they're more accurate.

Walkers & crews, i agree 100% on a range, in a shootout across a parking lot or something like that. i would want my glock 17 - 9mm. i just feel if i ever have to defend myself it will be face to face. my little 22 magnum will stop anyone with a round in the face. i read where in new jersey or somewhere they had about 400 car jackings a year. i wouldnt live in a place like that and if we ever start dealing with car jackings here i will damn well start carrying some real fire power. we basically have no crime here so my 22 mag. is enough for me

Crews where do you wear your gun?

I carry a lc9 in my back pocket. I can't really wear iwb because I keep my shirt tucked in tight at all times. I guess in the winter it would be fine but not in the summer.

Hypothetical- active shooter in a mall and you have a chance to stop the threat. The problem is is that he is at least 30 yards away. Yes, you could run but you are in a position to take a shot as you are unnoticed. This would keep more people from getting shot before the police respond. How do you feel about a NAA 22, or a LCP 380? There are a million what ifs, but bring the biggest gun you can carry. Mine happens to be a Glock 26 or 27. I like having a extra Glock 17 or 22 mag with me. I feel comfortable putting shots on a man sized target at 25 yards consistently and have trained at 50yds and beyond. It may not always be the up close an personal confrontation ,,,,,just to get you thinking.

Some reason tapatalk won't let me post a photo but that would be energy measures in ft lbs over distance. Right?

My personal choice is to never go smaller than 9mm, because I think that's the minimum, and I'd rather have more mag capacity. To me that picture proved that just about any duty caliber penetrates the same and has adequate wound channels.

Yep that was my original point. Buy what you will actually carry. Most at least most other than crews won't actually carry a full size gun everytime they leave the house. A .22 is better than nothing and .380 is better than a .22 and so on but the bottom line is of you left it at home, it's a low quality gun and doesn't function properly or you haven't trained (not practiced) with it correctly it does you no good. Or maybe crews is right and I'm lazy :)

And speaking on training I think it's very important to add stress to training to learn how to control heart rate, breathing and controlling adrenaline under stressful situations

In my opinion it's not small enough for a .380 if I'm gonna tote a pistol that size it's gonna be my 27

I will carry a small Ruger 380 when I'm able too.
My dad has a XD 40 that he rarely carries because it is bulky and impractical to reasonably carry.

If a 380 wont do it, you walk out there 30 yards and let me shoot at you.... That's what I thought.
