School me on go pro cameras
So I'm about to pull the trigger on a go pro. I'm looking at the hero 3 but what is the difference in the silver edition and the black edition? Is it worth the extra $100 or can I just buy the silver and have the same thing as spending the extra $100.

School me on go pro cameras
The higher priced ones(grey, black) have the wifi remote, the big thing is they can film in very low light.
I have a hero3+ black.

Re: School me on go pro cameras
I just went through this learning curve. You can buy third party batteries, just get an extra pair. Get the 3+black. Higher res and full wifi control. And you can run it from iPhone or samsung phone. You are going to need some mounts, depending on your activity. 32gb super high speed memory card. Or 64gb. Plan on spending another $300 not including camera... And....you need some horsepower on your PC to do all the editing. Not an inexpensive endeavor.

I have a gopro hero 3 black edition with a 32gb card for 325 shipped if your interested. I used it a few times now it just sits on the shelf. The beeper for scrolling through the menus dont work but never used the annoying thing anyhow. The case is wrapped in max 4. Other than the beeper camera works perfect.

Re: School me on go pro cameras
Get the silver hero 3+. Compared to the 3 it's a smaller lighter camera, longer battery life, improved case design, faster processor, better low light capabilities. Use your smart phone as your remote. The black comes with the remote and is $100 more. The app for phone is free and you also can see your shot on your phone eliminating the need for the back pack screen. So save $100 and your phone or tablet acts as your remote/viewfinder. Almost a $200 savings if you would consider the pricetag on the add on screen. My wife gave me a hero 3 for christmas and i returned it and got the 3+ instead. Can't wait to use it. So far just played around in the house with it and my phone trying to figure it out.

Re: School me on go pro cameras
I have been reading that the 3+ lens is not as clear as the 3 out past 4'. What has ya'll seen shooting hunting & sporting videos? Can't find anyone talking about what they do with the cameras just about not being as clear.

I like the Sony Action Video Camera HDR-AS15/30 - thinner design for mounting to side of shotgun.
