I like red but green gives more light but the bugs will be worse with green. May do both and use red in the summer.

Can you get yellow..... then you dont have to worry about the bugs

Go to the river and fish jugs in the summer in south Alabama . If you have a head light on and you open your mouth they will fill it up. Yeah I'm concerned about bugs.

It don't take long for them to swarm.... Long enough to tie a few hooks. Have you ever fished at night in the summer?

Are the bugs not bad bow fishing? I have thermo cells they do nothing for the bugs that swarm around the lights. But we run the cells even when in the dark for Mosquitos.

the constant moving helps but i still wear pants and have spray if needed. when it comes to bugs its always a losing battle. little bastards

Use orange lights to repel bugs if u look on most camper the bug light under the awning is orange or at least that's what the guy who sold me mine said it was for

Customfitz LED has some ribbon LED stirips that I will be using under the bed rail in my truck. If I had cat walks they would be getting used in there as well....

I would use red if I were you. I found this study using google.

Red attracted 0.6% of the insects;
Yellow 2.1%
Green 3.8%
White 4.2%
Blue 26.5%
Black (UV) 62.8%

Now that is more in my price range. I saw on one thread where these are cheep because it is the left overs that have been put together to make a five meter strip.

I had these in my last boat and know of a few other guys that have them in their boat also. Very good for the money and you can get them at autozone.

I just ordered 3 of the Rigid Industries dome lights for the new boat. hope they work how I'm wanting.

I just bought the same strips that was on amazon from west marine for $30 amazon they were $3 lol I feel violated

I got em in everyone of my boxes in my boat and hanging in my cabin running off a deep cell battery and havn't had a problem with em at all.....Long as you keep em out of standing water ya want have any problems out of them....And also whe you put em on and take a bead of silicone across them they will last ya!
