 Re: favorite brand of decoys
I have heard that mother nature's are the best, but they require a lot of work in the off season.
GHG looks great, but they don't hold up well at all. G&H cost more but last pretty much forever. Never really liked Flambeau
Starting to really like the FA Brand and think Im going to give Dakota Decoys a try next year.

 Re: favorite brand of decoys
G&H are nice. Might as well dish out the extra cash on something you will have for awhile instead of having to replace them in a couple years. Just my 2 cents though.

I like my GHG and after 5-6 years they look like they did when I bought them. I do use slot bags though. The FAs look nice.

 Re: favorite brand of decoys
Best decoys are the foam mallards I made this year. Stumpy didn't like them. But Stumpy ain't a duck and the ducks love em. We've been hunting all over and shooting birds in areas where there aren't birds. Rivers, tidal, lakes. Had geese trying to run my decoys out of a slough the other mornign before legal.

 Re: favorite brand of decoys
I like the GHG also, but I think that they have QC issues. I bought a bunch this year and my brother has been using them and he has told me that a bunch of the keels broke and some of them came out of the box and had holes in the seams.
This is the first issue I have had with them, but not the first time I have heard about it.
There are lots of good mallard dekes on the market, but not really anything that looks like some of their OTMs do...

 Re: favorite brand of decoys
I favor Herters burlap. I swearing off the plastic decoys, these things take a beating and are easy to touch up paint when needed.

 Re: favorite brand of decoys
I like to use GHG dekes I would say stay away from Flambeau at all cost. My buddy bought some and by the next weekend they were already chipping. But my dad has some dos Gris dekes made by flambeau that are pretty close 15 years old and are still in great shape. I guess that goes to show they don't make things like they used to.
