 "Sinkbox" defintion
Okay, so I have an idea for some badass one man duck blinds it is basically a pit blind sitting on the bottom with 3-4' of water around it out in the middle of flats.
EVERY definition of a sink box I've read is: "a partially submerged enclosure large enough to hold one or more hunters and suspended from a FLOATING platform." "From a sink box or any other low FLOATING device that conceals you beneath the surface of the water."
Mine would basically be a pit blind in the middle of a shallow lake, but with the majority of the blind submerged below the surface of the water instead of in a levy. The way I look at it, A foot or better of it will be above the surface and I wont have any more "advantage of hiding" vs standing in waders next to a stump other than a dry place to get. I'm gunna call Mr. Green Jeans, but even then most of them wont know for sure and all interpret it different.... What yall think?

 Re: "Sinkbox" defintion
What are u getting at is it legal or illegal I hunted a few years back out of pit blinds in the middle of flooded bean fields they would hold 5or 6 people but they were exactly like u r describing with metal lids on them u remove when u get there the only problem is we had some in a lake too that when the lake flooded so did the blinds but in the fields we regulated the water

 Re: "Sinkbox" defintion
The other problem with it is the lake or hole u r thinking about has to dry up enough to dig it out and anchor so when the water comes up it doesn't float up out the ground

 Re: "Sinkbox" defintion
From the definition above I would think as long as it sits on the bottom you are good. I've had my share of tickets tho so take it for what it's worth

Woodie, no issues. Have hunted out of them for years in catahoula, perfectly legal. If the wardens out there have no issue, and one I know has his own, you'll be fine.

I have heard that they hunt like that off the outer banks in North Carolina. Call them curtain blinds or something like that. As long as your standing on the bottom I don't see an issue
