 Bowfishing arrows and tips
What seems to work? What should I stay away from?

 Re: Bowfishing arrows and tips
I have the stingray tips on my arrows and like them. Never had any of them pull out of a fish or anything else.

 Re: Bowfishing arrows and tips
We use sure shot tips on our carp arrows, but we don't really care if a carp comes off. They are faster to unhook, but they don't always hold fish the best.

 Re: Bowfishing arrows and tips
all depends what your planning on shooting. I like cajun piranah short or long barbs for big fish work good for me ill bend the barbs tighter to the shaft so it pokes a smaller hole. Shure shots are nice and easy to use but i tend to loose fish once and a while with them. I have heard lots of good things about the gene davis 3 and 4 barb points too. I'll let you know what I think of them when they get here.

Muzzy!!! Don't use tip that you can unscrew with just a twist of the arrow.

 Re: Bowfishing arrows and tips
Knock on wood I've never lost a big gar with a sure shot but I've lost 2 with muzzy tips. granted tha last 1 eas when i first switched to the muzzy reel and probably didn't have the drag set right and didn't know how to fight it without feeling the line in my hand .

 Re: Bowfishing arrows and tips
I use the cajun yellow jacket arrows and the sureshot points for rays up here. This will be my 3rd year and really happy with them. Maybe since the Rays can't really spin I don't have problems but have yet to loose one cus it spun on the barb and released it. I used to use the stingray points but had problems holding on deep/far shots
