It's 15 degrees outsode and I'm going duck hunting, I need my head examined!!!!

I worked outside all night, ice hanging all over the place. I decided to come home warm up and sleep instead of going hunting.

Went to my usual ramp this mornin...

Two problems...

1. Not much water left
2. What there is is frozen over -- never saw salt water frozen !!!

Bet there will be a massive fish kill --- monday you will be able to fill
a boat with dead trout and reds.....

this mornin was my first experience with ice that bad. the boat was frozen to the trailer so hard that we almost couldnt break it loose, we backed the boat in the water and boat and trailer were floating, busted us out a good hole for the decoys and landin zone and by the time we put em all out it was froze solid again, had fun though, but would not want to deal with that on a regular basis.

all this cold weather and there's no ducks!

had more fun yesterday slingin mud and crushin ice than doin anything else.
every small body of water was frozen over cept for some who had a pretty good chop on them.

you would think with this freezin weather we'd see more ducks.....

Didn't even need the jacket this morning. Just a wool sweater.

And my official "Netman made me wear it" lifejacket. Paddling a canoe through whitewater in the dark is always interesting. When ice chunks are smashing on the rocks around you it gets really interesting.

Lil bro got to the boat ramp this mornin up near the red river. Lake was frozen all the way across. They were scared to launch the ol riveted jon, and hightailed it back to lewisville. Said another guy launched a big pd boat and tore off through it. Turns out they were a friend of a friend of mine and they limited out pretty quick. Long as they could keep the ice broke up round the dec's, the ducks kept comin. We'll be back in the mornin breakin the ice with my boat.

Went and hunted a beaver pond this morning and some parts of it I could stand on the ice. I weigh about 220lbs. Definatelly the coldest weather i have ever hunted before.

Everything froze up here. I got out on an island and the nutras were huddled up on dry land. I walked right up to them and they stayed hunkered down. Could have punted them like footballs. Got a big one up and it headed for the water. Mofo dove off the land and hit the ice and went skiding out across it doing 360s. I was laughing my ass off. Poor nutra just layed there on the ice spead eagle probably wonderin WTF was going on.

Had to tie the back of the boat to a tree yesterday mornin and pull it with my truck to get it to break loose from the trailer. Talk about cold!!!

Took a boat ride this morning around Delacroix,lets just say that it was up there on the list of the stupidest things that I have ever done. Broke ice all over,not many birds, and the boat was covered in ice,throttle cable froze up,slipped on ice at the back down slid into the water and the list goes on.
