 Bowfishing Deck
Im wanting to build a bowfishing deck for a 17x60 xpress aluminum boat with a pointed bow. Any of yall have ideas or experience doing this? I want something relatively light. Also need to know what lights to get

 Re: Bowfishing Deck
I found this one on the internet, looks simple to build, easy to remove and mount lights on. lights are a diffrent story - I am going to try some LEDs

Use light rails lighter and easier to put on and take off

 Re: Bowfishing Deck
The way the front deck is on that xpress is its uneven. Im wanting to flatten it out but not do a raised deck and then just do the light rail like ddm was saying.

 Re: Bowfishing Deck
Yall think it could be made out of conduit? Trying to keep it as light as possible. The boat only has a 50 on it so with 3-4 guys the generator and cooler it gets pretty weighed down

 Re: Bowfishing Deck
Mine was made out of thick wall tubing, I could pick the entire thing up myself. You might can shave down 15lbs but that's not really enough to make a difference. I've made hundreds of lock on deer stands out of 3/4" galvanized EMT, if you build it right, it will definitely hold you. A light weight sub frame and then deck it. It's summer time and many schools are doing renovations, see if you can find some old aluminum bleachers. They are really light and strong. Pop a few holes and bolt them together... Just another idea...

 Re: Bowfishing Deck
I just used some 1" pvc for a light rial. Works great, cheap, and light weight.

 Re: Bowfishing Deck
Depends on what lights and how high your boat will be out the water. If your going led lights. A good starting point is around 18". Leave stock on your legs to adjust. Don't do like people and put the lights waist high then can't shoot fish up against the boat. Keep them lower out the way

 Bowfishing Deck
12" off the gunnel usually plenty but 16" is like a shin rail if you like a rail
Really depends on your lights and how comfortable you are shooting without rail or with a rail.
